I have gone through the editorial written by Dr. Anusheel Munshi of Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai. [1] It is indeed a well written article. I would like to add that there are 342 Brachytherapy installation centers in India and in the recent past HDR units are gradually increasing in several centers. The image-guided Brachytherapy is also gaining momentum in Indian scenario. We have Indian Brachytherapy society, which is trying to bring all Brachytherapists in India together and promote educational programs. Few centers in India are conducting training programs in Brachytherapy. Recently Health Care Global, Bangalore has started one-year post graduation fellowship program in Brachytherapy under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health sciences in Karnataka. In India effort is made to manufacture indigenous HDR system which is almost in the final step of completion. We the practicing Brachytherapists should come together and protect and protect the science of Brachytherapy from brink of oblivion.
